Germany’s legislators have established a whole raft of requirements for producers and owners of waste. These include reducing waste, storing different types of waste separately and managing waste in line with the five-tier waste hierarchy (Section 6 of the KrWG [German Federal Circular Economy Act]). Businesses that handle and work with dangerous substances must comply with safety requirements covering the labelling, storage, treatment and disposal of these materials.
